Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie @ Kuala Lumpur

Heellllloooo my pastry-mates!!! Its been awhile since we last updated you with food. Anyways, went on a random trip with my friend to KL and bunked at her friend's place for the first 2 nights. M took us to Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie, which was along Jln Delima just opposite the Indonesia Embassy.

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie-

First and foremost, I apologize for the poor quality pictures. was only using my Iphone4 to snap the pics.

A quaint French style bakery and cafe in the centre of Kuala Lumpur that serves pastries, cakes and pastas. You can enjoy your tea and coffee the French way. I was pretty excited bout the place when I heard my friend mentioning pastries!!

Bakery. Interior of Levain.

Picture taken from the 1st floor

Spacious, you can either dine inside or along the patio. Indoor serves for non-smokers

feels like you're in Europe right?

Raspberry danish & Strawberry Danish

Macaroons- multiple flavors/colours to choose from

Check out the prices! Not too bad isn't it?

As I entered the place, the smell of freshly oven baked bread and pastries triggered my olfactory buds. Of course, I was drooling away when I saw the bakery on my left. They do serve a variety of pastries, from plain bread to croissant and danish. You name it, you got it.

Our orders:

Clockwise from left:
Berries danish
Mango cheese tart
Pepperoni crispy pizza
Mini croissant

From front: Pear tart, Maple french toast

Clockwise from left:
Cream cheese danish
Apricot sunrise
Berries danish

The berries danish was just too pretty to look at, we were reluctant to eat it :P But it was really good, the combination of chocolate cream, berries and danish- just awesome. Uh oh... if you're a cheese-lover, you have to try out the mango cheese tart, you'll definitely love it!!

Beef Aglio Olio MYR12.50

A friend of mine ordered this. According to her, the beef aglio olio wasn't that great. It tasted more like... char mee.

My choice- Seafood Aglio Olio MYR12.50

Superbly satisfying. The portion was just right, not too much, not too little. Your stomach would still have enough space to accommodate those pastries and cakes, trust me. I love how fragrant the garlic was and how tantalizing the taste was, think calamaris and fish slices fried with garlic and capsicums, yummy!

Visit Levain's website: http://www.levain.com.my

Price:
8 /10 (The pastries are approx at a price range of 3-6MYR per piece, as for the pastas.. hmmm... check out the menu above and you be the judge :P )
Service: 8/10 (Well, there are 3-4 cashier counters, so paying up isn't a problem unless you go during the peak hours; we didn't have to wait for too long for the pastas to be served)
Environment: 8/10 (If you have not tried sipping tea/coffee the french/english way, this is a must try)
Food: 7.5/10 (you'll definitely dig this if you love pastries :D )
Comments: This place is worth trying, especially for those who want to experience something westernized! haha... However, finding a carpark can be quite troublesome. There're very limited parking slots within the premise, so you might have to park along the roadside.
