Speaktoit (Android's Siri)

How many of you out there own an iPhone 4s? How are you liking Siri? You see, Android users also get the urge for such "assistantship" and so, thankfully, someone developed a Siri-function-alike application for the Android-ers! Check it out!

This application is called Speaktoit. Here's the deal with this application; the speech of the bot is total crap. It does not speak fluently as Siri and honestly, it gets annoying. But well, for a free of charge application, I guess that's already good. At least the Andoird peeps can get a glimpse of what Siri is.

The thing with this kinda voice recognition application is that it runs just like a search engine. When you ask it something, it will recognize the spoken words as text, send it over the internet and search for the most accurate answer. For Speaktroit, it is dependent on TrueKnowledge which is kinda decent. Not the largest database tho. I wish it would run on google.

As for its capabilities, Speaktoit is able to access my calender (which is synced up to my google account), update  Twitter and Facebook, send texts, make calls, send an e-mail, run applications and search locations. All this however runs over the internet and without data, you can't access a single thing. Pretty sad huh.

There are other Siri look-alike and function-alike applications in the Android market namely Iris, Jeanie, Skyvi, etc. but Spearktroit, is definitely much versatile in its capabilities.
