Belvárosi Lugas Étterem

If you happen to be in Budapest, do pay a visit to Belvarosi Lugas Etterem aka Lugas Restaurant. And you wanna know why you should be there? IT'S A MUST-GO btw lol I'm just kidding, and no, actually I'm not.

So this is how it looks like :

nightview during our 2nd visit
We actually stopped by Lugas for lunch by coincidence.  The restaurant looked somewhat moderately small. I think it could accomodate around max 30 pax? which also includes tables & chairs available outside the restaurant. We went there twice so both the waitress and the waiter who served us were friendly and nice. Credits should be given to the waitress who served us on our first visit coz she was quite attentive towards our customer needs. :)

First visit :

Ahhh.. yes. When you're in an Eastern European country, the Goulash soup is a must try-out! :D The soup tasted very delicious and since it was my first time trying it out, it tasted similar to a combination of curry + tomyum soup with beef in it except the fact that the spiciness was absent, but the soup was quite thick due to the many ingredients in it. Nevertheless, the richness of the soup blended very well with the beef. Just for the record, Hungary is famous for its Paprika spices. :O

Another dish we ordered was the fish below, could you tell what fish was this? Couldn't really remember, so terribly sorry :( But anyway, this was rather okay coz it tasted just like the usual fried fish. Nothing special about it.

Pork chop topped with honey sauce! This was quite satisfying as the sweet honey sauce brought out the taste of the pork rather well.

2nd visit :

Due to the superb food and service this place had to offer, we decided to return here before we left Hungary lol. This time we ordered the Hungarian stuffed cabbage, known to them as Töltött káposzta, okay whichever way how you pronounce it I'm just kidding lol :P . It was basically a stuffed cabbage wrap with minced/ground pork, beef, sauerkraut (fermented sour cabbage) etc. Slightly spicy, hence reminded me of kimchi due to the sour cabbage taste. But it was really yummy! Highly-recommended.

This was a pork chop with melted cheese topping on it. Great flavour for those who love cheeseeee ;)

Price: 7/10 (Price was rather affordable, meals + drinks/Hungarian beer = 2000-3000 Forints, which equals to £7-10)
Service: 7/10 (Friendly and attentive service, but it slightly decreased when full capacity at night)
Environment: 6.5/10 (Very heartwarming and cosy decos, but they should prolly consider increasing the size of the restaurant due to the full capacity at night)
Food: 8/10 (Very satisfying! Make sure you don't miss out the Goulash and Hungarian cabbage wrap!)
Comments: Great place to try out local Hungarian/Eastern European dishes. Do remember to pay a visit! :) For details on location? Google/bing it! :P
