Let's go crepe-ing in Aruba!

Hello from the Caribbean!

Here's a little inside recommendation from a frequent cruiser when visiting the beautiful island of Aruba.

First of all, ladies, DO NOT wear  flare skirts because it gets really really windy!
But of course, this is a food blog.
Here we go.

Crepes. Dutch crepes. Absolutely satisfying to the tastebuds. There's this place a little off the cruise pier in Oranjestad named Cafe de Plaza. You can find a Starbucks, a casino and a few other food spots there as well a movie theatre that more than often sells two for the price of one tickets. Great, right?

Anyway, head to nowhere but the Dutch Pancakehouse, home of ridiculously good crepes and other breakfast items.
Price ranges from around USD 9 to USD 15 per crepe so be prepared to spend about 20 there. But don't worry. One crepe feeds an American to the max and quite possibly two or three Asians.

My favourite is the Shanghai crepe. It comes with onios, peppers, ham and other spices and oh boy, is it good! Try it, I guarantee a hundred percent satisfaction. Even my boyfriend who's a picky eater enjoys stealing from my plate! It costs USD 12 and I like a pinneapple juice with it.

Here's a quick look of what I had devoured yesterday:

My friend who ordered the Peach on the Beach crepe got a little surprise and more than what she expected! It came with a ton of Grand Marnier on it. Thats an orange brandy liqueur. Afterwards, the waitress torched it with an open flame and let it glaze over it, just like a creme brûlée. A definite must try, I must say!

Here's her huge surprise:

So don't forget to check this place out if you are hopping on a cruise to the beautiful windy and sunny island of Aruba!
